An elevated take on the classic 2000’s Burberry polo. This piece is cut in a fitted, subtly waist defining silhouette, the design includes black vertical ribbing with contrasting glossy cotton panels on either shoulder. The pointed collar, three button placket with brassy engraved buttons and tonal topstitching give the piece a utilitarian edge. Finished with the houses iconic equestrian embroidery, gusset style panelling, the brands recognisable ‘nova check’ colouring under the collar and an engraved D ring on the reverse.
This piece reflects a shift in Burberrys identity in the mid 2000’s, when creative director Christopher Bailey began reworking the houses overall heritage-led visual language through a sharper more youthful lens. The brand leaned into more subtle branding, utility led design and body conscious silhouettes.
