An exceptional archival Chanel piece from the Spring 2008 collection, this striking two-piece maxi dress perfectly embodies the romantic femininity of Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel.
The design comprises a dramatic black knitted outer dress layered over a contrasting ivory ribbed knit underdress. The black dress features delicate spaghetti straps, off-the-shoulder sleeves and a beautifully voluminous tiered maxi skirt, finished with intricate knitted panels and a sweeping ruffled hem.
The ivory underlayer creates a beautiful contrast at the neckline and features an intricate openwork lace-knit ruffle at the hem, finished with a signature gold-tone interlocking CC medallion. Subtle Chanel plaques provide further house detailing throughout.
Crafted in Italy from a luxurious linen-blend knit with cashmere, the combination of texture, movement and exaggerated proportions makes this a truly special example of 2000s Chanel.
